Aaron Swartz’s goal was bringing public access and share knowledge. Open access to academic journals for everyone, because “The world’s entire scientific and cultural heritage is locked up by a handful of private corporations”. In 2013 the 26-years-old internet activist Aaron Swartz committed suicide, suffering under the absurd prosecution by the US government, carrying a penalty of 35 years in prison.
Aaron was one of the developers of RSS feed at 14 years old, co-founder of social newssite Reddit and co-author of Creative Commons.
